Raw material is sourced almost entirely from Europe with regularly audited growers. Orchidwood has a broad portfolio to include all formats of processed mushrooms – chilled, dried, pasteurised, frozen. As the leading UK mushroom processor Orchidwood works with customers to establish the right kind of mushroom for their product development. HACCP systems are in place, backed up by QA manuals and ongoing staff training. We are Campden members. All fresh mushrooms are processed within 24 hours of harvesting, ensuring the freshest possible product to our customers.
EFSIS Higher Level and Soil Association certification. Auditing by both internal staff and external bodies is constant and ongoing.
Orchidwood prides itself on its speed of response and flexibility. We will work with customers to establish the right route and deliver daily throughout the UK and Europe. We achieve a high rate of ‘in full, on time’ delivery. Orders can be accepted by telephone, fax or e-mail. We provide NPD support to all of our major customers. Our overriding principle is one of ‘profitable business partnership’ in which we both grow together. Customer Service is managed by Jacky Broad and Annie Broad.
Orchidwood is a thriving company supplying frozen and chilled mushrooms to the UK and Europe. We cut the mushroom in over ninety shapes and sizes to meet the customer need, in washed, scalded or blanched form before freezing. With our associates in Europe, we can supply virtually any mushroom – cultivated or wild – to make Orchidwood the true ‘one-stop shop’.
